Aldrich Apothecary receives KDOC Business Excellence Award Aldrich Apothecary in Council Grove is one of only four Business Excellence Award recipients in the North Central Region selected by the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) during Business Appreciation Month as announced at the Kansas Cavalry Encampment at El Dorado on June 29. Connie Aldrich accepted the award from Lyle Peterson, Business Development Project Manager for KDOC’s North Central Region Wednesday morning during a regular meeting of the Greater Morris County Development Corporation – which had nominated the local pharmacy for such recognition.
KDOC selected only 27 Regional Business Excellence Award winners from throughout the entire state. Nominee categories included Manufacturing/Distribution, Service, Retail, and Hospital/Non-Profit. Aldrich Apothecary was the retail winner. The other three winners in the North Central Region include Bellus Academy of Manhattan (service); Community HealthCare System (hospital/non-profit) at Onaga, and Panzers Ornamental Concrete (manufacturing/distribution) in Ellsworth.
In announcing the winners, Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George said he wanted “. . . to congratulate the businesses recognized because they represent the very best of their communities and Kansas”. George went on to say that “. . . these awards are a way we can recognize their numerous contributions to keeping our state strong”. This is the second time Aldrich Apothecary has been recognized by Department of Commerce as several years ago it was named an outstanding Female and Minority Owned Business.
John White, president of the Greater Morris County Development Corporation said he was “. . . pleased that Kansas is recognizing one of our community’s top retailers; we know they’re outstanding and now so does the governor and the rest of the state”.
